We are seeking a Senior Director of Strategic Planning & Analytics to enhance our team with technical expertise and leadership. Reporting to the VP, FP&A, this hands-on role requires a passion for data and analytics in a fast-paced environment.
The candidate will help the executive team understand sales, transaction, and margin trends while providing insights into store and product performance. Measuring the effectiveness of strategic initiatives, such as remodels and product launches, will involve predictive analytics and data-driven recommendations. Financial modeling for break-even analysis and forecasting will also be essential.
Strong logical reasoning and clear communication of findings and actionable insights are critical for success in this role.
Position Accountabilities
Lead, execute, and communicate actionable quantitative and qualitative financial analysis of strategic initiatives to drive optimal business decisions, including:
- Measure the financial impact of tested initiatives to minimize risk/maximize reward prior to a system rollout.
- Perform “test and learn” analysis to understand incremental impacts using pre vs. post, test vs. control analysis via the APT tool (Mastercard’s Applied Predictive Technologies).
- Solid understanding of predictive analytics and statistical methodologies with the ability to convey findings and recommendations in a clear and concise manner to a diverse audience, including executives.
- Dissect the components of the check to highlight business trends.
- Understand and communicate the shifts in product sales and the impacts to total check that may coincide with drivers, such as product introductions and marketing promotions.
- Report shifts in consumer purchasing by monitoring product attachment rates and category movement (i.e., value items, combo vs. a la carte, side items).
- Lead the pricing strategy to ensure our pricing structure is competitive and profitable.
- Build a financial model to understand the sales and transaction impact of price changes at a store and item level.
- Work closely with the Consumer Insights team to understand competitive pricing by market and product category.
- Provide analytical support to the Marketing team that drives their strategic plan.
- Build financial models to support e-commerce growth and loyalty initiatives.
- Provide analysis to drive decisions on media spend, promotional activity, product rollouts, and menu optimization.
- Finance Lead on Food Cost Mix Shift analysis
- Partners closely with Supply Chain to understand changes in Food Cost % and communicates to senior leadership.
- Participates in a wide variety of project-related activities and initiatives.
- Serves on cross-functional projects and teams as needed.

Education
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Marketing, Data Analytics, or related degree
Experience
- 10+ years’ experience in data analytics with a focus on predictive modeling, statistical analysis, and data visualization
- 5+ years of people management
Essential Physical Requirements
- Individuals must live in the Tampa area and are required to be in the Restaurant Support Center 3 days per week, at a minimum.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret written information such as procedure manuals, Company communications, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to travel may be required to attend off-site training, meetings, and seminars.
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods in one location, which may be restricted to the employee’s workstation.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
