Sr Construction Manager

This is a remote position. The ideal candidate will reside in Texas or the Western United States.


The Senior Construction Manager is a highly skilled management position which is responsible for the construction management of new or remodeled Checkers/Rally’s restaurants as well as taking lead on construction initiatives within the organization.




  1. Leads construction projects to ensure timely and appropriate company and franchisee openings of Checkers/Rally’s, ensuring the brand image meets all current standards.
  2. Works cross collaboratively across the enterprise to create systems and manuals to support company and franchisee openings of new Checkers/Rally’s locations.
  3. Leads discussion and coordinates with general contractors, architects, and engineers to ensure timely company and franchisee openings of Checkers/Rally’s, ensuring the brand image meets all current standards.
  4. Updates procedure manuals for construction and standards for new Checkers/Rally’s locations.
  5. Ensures the delivery of brand standards in all areas of Construction. Provides guidance on development costs on all company and franchisee development
  6. Oversees all re-model requirements of company and franchised units to ensure brand image standards are met



  1. Initiates, expands, develops and maintains close, productive and resourceful relationships with Franchise Operations Directors, Franchise Business Consultants, Director of Construction, Franchise Development Staff and all cross functional support teams
  2. Establishes and manages relationships with franchisees, vendors and staff
  3. Ensures successful franchisee relations and communications with Restaurant Support Center
  4. Serves as a liaison between franchisees, vendors and Company personnel


Operating Budget

  1. Meets operating budget for Construction Manager cost center
  2. Communicates anticipated variances to the Sr Director of Real Estate, Design and Construction



  1. Ensures franchise candidates meet or exceed qualifying standards


Policies and Procedures

  1. Follows procedures as outlined in Operations Manual and other Company manuals – such as New Restaurant Opening Manual and Restaurant Readiness Checklist



  1. Submits required reports and paperwork on a timely basis
  2. Up to 70% travel may be required

High School Diploma, Bachelor’s degree from a four year college or university preferred



At least five years construction experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret written information such as procedure manuals, Company communications or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, Guests and the general public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Highly responsive
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office suite and Internet software.
  • Ability to regularly stand for extended periods of time, talk and hear.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to frequently use hands to finger, handle or feel.
  • Ability to work in a normal restaurant environment where the noise level is usually moderate and occasionally be exposed to outside weather conditions.
