POS Specialist

At Checkers & Rally’s we make a difference in people’s lives by serving our Franchisees, Teams, and Guests. As a member of the IT team you will be working within the restaurant technologies group and be responsible for designing, maintaining and testing the POS menu system. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to the deployment and monitoring of changes to the restaurants for pricing and menu items. This individual will have high level of customer service when interacting with company and franchise operators.



  • Programs, tests and deploys menu items and price changes
  • Monitors production changes for expected performance and responds to errors and escalations in a timely fashion
  • Develops and clearly documents application testing process and obtains user sign offs for requested changes
  • Partners closely with company and franchise operators to clearly define requirements for new functionality and changes to existing functionality 
  • Upholds the integrity of the application logic and coding and establishes required checks and balances for operational controls
  • Assists in analyzing data processing functions, methods and procedures and makes recommendations concerning the feasibility of revising existing applications to more effectively use system resources
  • Maintains up to date knowledge of computer operating procedures and operating standards as it related to the POS system



  • 2+ years’ in an IT environment working directly with Aloha POS software preferred
  • Ability to troubleshoot Windows 10 operating systems and hardware within the restaurant tech stack
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to think independently, take the initiative, think resourcefully, take corrective action, and to resolve inquiries
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal and written communications skills
  • High energy with a positive, customer-centric attitude

  • Thrives in a collaborative environment
  • Experience with Aloha QS, Configuration Center and Command Center
  • Preferred working knowledge of retail/restaurant
