POS Menu Management Specialist

Position Summary

At Checkers & Rally’s, we make a difference in people’s lives by serving our Franchisees, Teams, and Guests. As a member of the IT team, you will be working within the restaurant technologies group and be responsible for technical configuration, maintenance, and governance of menu content within the Aloha POS system. This role ensures integrity, accuracy, and timely deployment of menu changes, pricing updates, and promotional configurations across all company and franchise locations. The incumbent will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, including Operations, Marketing, Finance, and external vendors, to support enterprise initiatives and to ensure consistent execution of menu strategies across all customer-facing platforms.  Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the deployment and monitoring of changes to the restaurants for pricing and menu items. This individual will have high customer service when interacting with the company and franchise operators.

 

Position Accountabilities

  • Administer and maintain Aloha POS menu database, including the configuration of menu items, pricing, tax structures, modifiers, and promotions.
  • Govern the end-to-end menu deployment lifecycle, including requirements gathering, system build, testing, validation, documentation, and rollout.
  • Partner with Operations and Marketing teams to ensure accurate translation of business requirements into POS menu configurations that align with organizational objectives.
  • Monitors production changes for expected performance and responds to errors and escalations in a timely fashion.
  • Perform quality assurance reviews and execute test cases to validate menu functionality prior to deployment.
  • Manage integrations with third-party platforms (e.g., digital ordering, delivery aggregators, loyalty, and payment systems) to ensure consistency of menu content across channels.
  • Assists in analyzing data processing functions, methods, and procedures, and makes recommendations concerning the feasibility of revising existing applications to more effectively use system resources.
  • Provide technical support to field operations, ensuring timely resolution of menu-related issues and escalation when required.
  • Support enterprise technology initiatives, including system upgrades, software patches, and enhancements impacting menu management functionality.
  • Uphold compliance with company policies, data governance standards, and industry best practices.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Equivalent Experience in information technology, Business Systems, Computer Science, or a related field required; equivalent professional experience will be considered.

 

Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year of direct experience with POS menu programming and configuration or equivalent enterprise POS system. Aloha preferred.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to think independently, take the initiative, think resourcefully, take corrective action, and resolve inquiries.
  • Stronginterpersonal and verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage complex technical requirements and deliver accurate, timely deployments.
  • Demonstrated experience working cross-functionally with Operations, Marketing, and Finance.
  • Experience with Aloha QS, Configuration Center, and Command Center preferred.
  • Preferred working knowledge of restaurants/IT.

 

Essential Physical Requirements:

  • The individual must live in the Tampa area and is required to be in the Restaurant Support Center 3 days per week, at a minimum.
  • The ability to travel is required to attend off-site meetings, visit restaurants, and attend training, meetings, and seminars.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods in one location, which may be restricted to the employee’s workstation.
