Graphic Designer II

POSITION DESCRIPTION: As a Graphic Designer II on the Checkers/Rally’s Creative Team, you will contribute to the strategic ideation, design and implementation of all design deliverables, including corporate branding, advertising, websites, mobile applications, e-mail communications, banners and social content. All work will ladder up to the Checkers brand mission as well as the creative department’s vision of unparalleled creative excellence.

 

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Develops design assets based on current advertising campaigns and continually develops and broadens those concepts throughout all brand communications.
  • Solves communication challenges through expertise in typography, layout, color and end-user interaction.
  • Collaborates with ease alongside other designers and production managers/directors that comprise the internal Checkers Creative Team.
  • Works closely with outside vendors (print, photographic, digital)
  • Works alongside and communicates clearly with all internal corporate stakeholders, including marketing department.
  • Provides creative feedback to third party vendors on certain projects.
  • Manages production schedules with ease through project completion.
  • Performs other duties as assigned with or without accommodation.
  • Understands that the workday in the creative department occasionally requires irregular work hours and quick turnarounds, so flexibility is critical.
  • High level of personal responsibility. Must be personally committed to executing at a high standard and bringing a high level of passion to your work.
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize work and organize workload.
  • Handles a robust workload at a pace consistent with modern-day marketing organizations.

 

Job Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Digital Graphic Design, Advertising, Marketing or 3 to 5 years’ experience in a related field required.
  • Strong knowledge of design, file preparation, and expert knowledge in Adobe Creative Suite software
  • Understanding of front-end web development and working knowledge/experience in HTML, Flash and AS2/3 a plus, but not required.
  • Capable of utilizing computer, Word, PowerPoint, Excel in creative design software.
  • 5+ years marketing experience in creative art direction in digital design.
  • Portfolio of work directed by individual and created by individual.
  • Inspiring, passionate and enthusiastic.
  • Comprehensive understanding of communications mediums, design mediums and up-to-date understanding of current design trends.
  • Business acumen with the ability to connect strategic objectives with action by the use of creative and messaging.
  • Thorough understanding of digital creative and social media.
  • Proven problem solver with the ability to find creative solutions.
